Analytics
We use PostHog to see how the site is used, so that we can improve it: which pages are visited, where visitors come from, the kind of browser and device, the approximate location, and what is clicked. PostHog does not store your IP address; at most it keeps the approximate location (country and city) worked out from it.
Until you accept, visits are counted without cookies. Only your answer is stored in your browser, and PostHog tells visits apart with an anonymous code that changes every day, so you are not recognised on a later day. If you accept, PostHog keeps a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser's storage (names starting with “ph_”) to recognise you when you come back, and may record your visit, with anything you type hidden.
The legal basis is your consent for the cookie and the recordings, and our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used for counting visits without cookies. PostHog processes the data for us and stores it in the EU. We keep analytics data for as long as it helps us improve the site and the portal, and delete it when it no longer does.
BoilerCloud customer portal
BoilerCloud, our customer portal, uses PostHog the same way. Until you accept, use is counted without cookies. If you accept, it is linked to your user account (never your name or email) and may be recorded, with everything on screen hidden. You can change your answer under “Analytics choices” in the portal.
Your rights
You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Cookie settings” at the foot of the page; the cookie and the identifier are then deleted. You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and object to how we use it. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
